Jude Bellingham has been Real Madrid's most consistent player of the season so far. Yes, Kylian Mbappé will have the better numbers, but that would mainly be because of his position on the pitch rather than him actually being as consistently good as Bellingham.
Bellingham may not have the goal-scoring prowess of Mbappé, but as a midfielder, he's still performing at an incredible level in front of goal. He's already scored a bunch of goals for Real Madrid this season and also has a couple for England. He was able to get on the score sheet yet again against AEK Athens on Wednesday, and even if we removed the goal, Bellingham was still one of the very best players on the pitch.
Jude Bellingham has been incredible this season
Bellingham was gliding with the ball at his feet. He was able to get past opponents well, and it just seemed like nothing AEK Athens did could have stopped him on the night. He was able to score one goal, and even though he was substituted before the end of the game, he had a huge impact on it. His defensive work did not go unnoticed, and he was also working very hard to set Venicio's junior up to score a goal for the first time in a very long time.
Bellingham is just so smooth to watch. It is a really difficult job to be a Bellingham hater at this point because every time he steps on the pitch, he proves that he is the best player on the team. There is absolutely nothing anyone can do to stop him from absolutely dominating on the football pitch. It does not matter if it's against AEK Athens or against Barcelona: he always finds a way to be productive, efficient, and incredible.
This season, Bellingham has been on another level, and he has proved once again that he is Real Madrid's best and most consistent player this season. He may not always grab the headlines, although he certainly did against AEK Athens. Even in the games where his impact is not shown on the score sheet, it will be shown in the other facets of the game.
It will be shown by the way he dribbles, passes players, and creates chances for his teammates, or by how he passes the ball and evades pressure from the opposition. It could also be from the way Bellingham was able to defend with so much courage and conviction.
We are talking about a once-in-a-generation player. Given the fact that he is still only 23 years old, it goes to show that, despite the player being at an unbelievable level already, there are still so many levels he can go to, so many things he can do, and so many records he can break off the pitch. Jude Bellingham could genuinely be the best player in the world, but no one is ready for that conversation yet. They will be at some point.
