Midfielders

Jude Bellingham - Keep: Why even ask this? He is the heart of this team's midfield and, despite all the talk, is one of the top midfielders in the world. He had an average time last season, but watching him under Alonso is an interesting prospect.

Eduardo Camavinga - Keep: Bellingham, Camavinga, these are the names you build a team around. Camavinga is one of the most incredible pivots of this time, and it's unfortunate that Carlo Ancelotti never realized his full potential. An ordinary last season provides no reason to doubt his future at the club. He will be a Real Madrid player for many years and will be remembered as a legend, I bet.

Fede Valverde - Keep: Future captain and the living soul of this team who represents everything Real Madrid. I've always said that Valverde is a fan like us who was fortunate to be on the pitch. He is Real Madrid's most dedicated servant, and he plays accordingly. Being the machine that he is, he is destined for glory at Los Blancos. The question of letting him leave must be printed on paper, only to be burned to ashes.

Luka Modric - N/A: Real Madrid and Luka Modric will officially split ways at the end of the Club World Cup, the Croatian legend's final competition in the white shirt. A premature departure, but nevertheless a departure.

Aurelien Tchouameni - Keep: Alongside Camavinga, Tchouameni is another name that will have a very similar position under Xabi Alonso. The Spanish manager reportedly wanted to try a double pivot position, and I'm all for it. The club's confidence in the Frenchman was never shaken. He is versatile, can play multiple positions (hopefully he doesn't have to this time), and contributes significantly to breaking chains and transitions.

Arda Guler - Keep: Xabi Alonso is going to improve this kid's life, believe me. What Carlo Ancelotti did not do with him, Alonso will. Late last season, we understood how gravely misguided Ancelotti was in not giving him the necessary minutes sooner, but Alonso will not make that mistake. He recognizes Guler's exceptional inventiveness and chance creation abilities, and as a former midfielder, Xabi will not ignore them. I'm particularly looking forward to this one.

Dani Ceballos - Sell: Ceballos was good in the beginning and middle of the season, but his comeback from injury put him back at square one. He reverted to his old ways and became erratic once more. It is time for Real Madrid to break the cycle of loaning him out and then bringing him back with a glimmer of optimism only to be disappointed, and sell Ceballos for good. It is time to move on.
