Real Madrid's newest number 10, Kylian Mbappe, had a great individual season in his first year at the club. He did not win any major trophies, but he was the biggest reason why the club was competing for at least a couple of them.
Real Madrid needed more from him at the start of the season, but they did start getting the output that is worth the very large amount of money they are paying him, and hopefully, next season, it could translate into major trophies as well.
Real Madrid have been making changes in every department this season. From the players, to the manager, to now the staff - there are a lot of new faces, and one of them is from Mbappe's former club.
Kylian Mbappe's former club lost a key member to Real Madrid
Real Madrid, according to ESPN, have just signed international scout Raul Garcia from AS Monaco's scouting department.
Garcia will join Juni Calafat and his team at Real Madrid, and he seems to have a good track record of what he is doing.
Garcia was at Monaco for five years, and he was able to spearhead the signings of Paul Pogba and Ansu Fati this season, which is huge for the club.
He has also had stints at a number of different European clubs, including Real Madrid's city rivals Atletico Madrid. The other clubs he has worked for include Derby County, Fulham and Southampton.
Real Madrid recently lost a major member of their staff in Javier Tejero, when he left for Leganes in the summer. So, some recruitment in this department was overdue, and Real Madrid have sorted it out.
Garcia was not at Monaco when Mbappe was playing there, but there have been some good signings from the club in the last five years, and Garcia would have had to play a part in at least a few of them.
It remains to be seen how much he contributes to Real Madrid, but it is good that Calafat's team is growing again.
