Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Jr have been a topic of discussion for Real Madrid fans for as long as anyone could remember.
Before Mbappé joined the club, it was always about how devastating the two would be in an attack together.
Then, there were things about how Real Madrid can or cannot make it work with two similar players in the attack - and Rodrygo too, so make that three.
Since he has joined, the topic has shifted to whether the two are a good match or not, and who the 'problem' is among the two. I don't think either of them is the problem, but that is a topic for another day.
Vinícius Jr has not been himself in the last few months, and while that is not to say that this partnership cannot work, it has certainly given Mbappé the time to weigh his options and see who works with him better at this exact moment.
Well, there actually is a player who's been brilliant with Mbappé, and even huge Vinícius Jr fans will agree.
Arda Güler has been amazing alongside Kylian Mbappé this season
Arda Güler and Mbappé have linked up incredibly well ever since Xabi Alonso took over at the club. At first, in the Club World Cup, it was bursts of quality from both.
However, since the start of this season, it has been exceptional. It has just been unreal, and easily the best partnership at Real Madrid so far.
Güler's movement and passing complements the way Mbappé runs with it, and it is easy to see the dynamics of Mesut Ozil and Cristiano Ronaldo back in the day.
Even against Marseille, even though they did not link up for a goal, there were moments where they were the most dangerous duo for Real Madrid on the pitch.
Güler looks for Mbappe the second he gets the ball. Honestly, the Turkish international could have easily had an assist if he had passed to Mbappé in a chance in the first half rather than take a long range shot.
But this has been great. It is also just the first few weeks. As good as they look, they are still learning each other's game, so who knows, maybe in a few weeks, Real Madrid actually start looking even more threatening in attack.
Those are things that should be talked about and tracked after every game. Growth is never linear, so there will be a few games where they don't link up so well. But, from what I have seen so far, it has been ridiculously good.
