Kylian Mbappé is cooking on gas right now. Real Madrid went into the international break in appalling form, but it was through no fault of their star man. He proved that he's still the go-to guy for goals, scoring a brace for France and reaching a more than impressive 400 career goals.
Despite being on international duty, though, Kylian Mbappé could not get away from Real Madrid questions.
As we've seen time and time again, whenever Real Madrid loses or draws a match, the panic mob comes out, and players are criticized for 'letting it slip.'
Kylian Mbappé just set the same goal as every Real Madrid fan
Mbappé, though, had no time to be hysterical. Instead, he reminded Real Madrid fans that all of the players are onboarded to the same mission: to win all the titles in sight.
In his own words, Mbappé said: “When you don’t win at Real Madrid, people speak a lot. We played badly in the last two matches and we know it, but we’ll be back after the break ready to beat Elche. We’re all united to win all titles this season”
This is exactly the message that Real Madrid fans needed. If you talk to any Real Madrid fan in real life, the reponse is calm and 'we've got this' - but the mood online is entirely different.
Being involved in social media echo chambers is, frankly, woeful. Real Madrid fans online think that the season is over already, so it's good to see that this mood hasn't transcended to the players. Instead, as Mbappé revealed, the objective is still very much on.
As it stands, Real Madrid is top of La Liga by three points, seventh in the Champions League table and yet to even play in Copa del Rey. Things are very much in order, even if the internet presents Real Madrid as being in a chaos.
Mbappé has already made his next career goal clear - he wants to beat Cristiano Ronaldo's goal-scoring record. That's a pretty impressive goal to strive for. Shoot for the stars, so if you fall, you'll land on a cloud.
Heck, this goal works for Real Madrid. The more that Mbappé scores, the better their chances of winning everything this season.
After last season's shambles, winning trophies is seen as the bare minimum. It's not good if Real Madrid goes one season without winning something, but two? That's simply unforgivable.
