Real Madrid have once again become alert in the transfer market. Several great players are being carefully considered by Los Blancos, and Trent Alexander-Arnold might be the first signing for next season.

The player has announced his departure and is closer than ever to a Madrid move. Madrid's plan is to get him before the Club World Cup, i.e. a few weeks before his contract expires and Liverpool had offered some conditions to allow the early move.

However, in an unusual turn of events, Liverpool are postponing the player's transfer to Los Blancos for an entirely ridiculous reason. According to MARCA, the Merseyside club is postponing the deal because they have noticed unusual activity from one of their own players.

Per the report, Ibrahim Konate, who has been on Madrid's radar since long, has started to reject renewal proposals from Liverpool due to which the English club fear that he might move to Madrid on a free transfer as well.

Agitated by the behaviour of the Frenchman, Liverpool are skeptical of allowing Trent to go to Madrid earlier than they can.

The issue with Konate is Liverpool's own and delaying Trent's Real Madrid move makes no sense

It is true that Liverpool has been damaged by Real Madrid numerous times in the past. A Champions League final, another Champions League exit, and several high-profile interests ultimately choosing Real Madrid, the irritation is understandable.

But that is the role of a sport that can be both harsh and beautiful. Delaying Trent's move to Los Blancos because you 'fear' that another of your finest players may follow in his footsteps is immature for a large club like theirs.

Xabi Alonso is expected to lead the Madrid team to the Club World Cup, and the club has long desired Trent Alexander Arnold's participation. Liverpool had also proposed some conditions, indicating that they were willing to allow it happen.

It is juvenile to postpone the transfer because of personal issues. It doesn't reflect well on a club of this caliber.
