Liverpool identify Trent Alexander-Arnold replacement amid Real Madrid transfer
By Kian Long
Liverpool have identified their ideal Trent Alexander-Arnold replacement, as his Real Madrid transfer looks increasingly likely.
Last night, Liverpool beat Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. We must hold our hands in the air and admit that the better team won on the night. In fact, that would be an understatement - Real Madrid played the worst they have played in a long time.
However, it could still be Real Madrid who get the last laugh. It might not be the loudest laugh but... It's the last laugh, nevertheless.
In case you were not aware, Trent Alexander-Arnold is a Real Madrid transfer target. Given Liverpool's latest activity, this move is looking increasingly likely.

According to a news update from German outlet BILD, Liverpool are keen on signing Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen. They will push ahead with the transfer move, should Trent Alexander-Arnold leave the club this season.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is only under contract at Anfield Stadium until the end of the current campaign. While Liverpool have attempted to rectify his contract situation on a few occasions, it has not been successful at this point.
Since Real Madrid have often adopted the pre-contract agreement tactic in the past, it is no surprise to see Real Madrid interested in signing the Englishman. After all, they need all the help they can get at right-back, with their current injury woes.
Dani Carvajal is injured until the end of the season. Also, Lucas Vazquez is currently sidelined. Despite Vazquez' injury not being as bad as Carvajal's, it has highlighted Real Madrid's vulnerability in the right-back position.
As it stands, Real Madrid are using Federico Valverde as the right-back, despite being a natural and stronger midfielder. The Uruguay international has stepped up to the role well, however, it is hardly sustainable long-term.
