With the new Xabi Alonso era well and truly underway at Real Madrid, a number of changes are helping to shape the squad heading into the 25/26 season. The squad is undergoing a young revolution, seeing many of the older veteran players departing and new younger players arriving to lead the club to copious amounts of success.

One player who has managed to keep his place with this young generation is Luka Modric. The Croatian has survived many transfer cycles where young players come in who are expected to take his place, but the icon has proven he is aging like fine wine.

However, as everyone knows, all good things must come to an end and after a truly sensational career at Real Madrid, Luka Modric will be leaving the club after his contract expires this summer.

Modric has a number of land spots on his radar but it seems AC Milan have won the race. An announcement of his signing has been expected for about a week, however the Croatian has made a decision which shows his pure class as a person.

As being reported by Fabrizio Romano Luka Modric will sign a one-year contract with AC Milan, but will delay his medical and official announcement until after the Club World Cup, out of respect for Real Madrid as they try to win the competition.

After a legendary 13 years at the Santiago Bernabeu Luka Modric will be departing the club for his next chapter. At 39-years-old Modric is still a top level player so it is no surprise he will end up at a big club like AC Milan.

Modric will play his final games for Real Madrid in the upcoming Club World Cup before his move to the Italian club becomes official. Although he is 39-years old, Modric is expected to play a major role in Milan's midfield, serving as the replacement for Tijjani Reijnders who left for Manchester City.

With Modric's last games for Real Madrid coming up, many fans will no doubt take this moment to savor and enjoy the Croatian's talent for one final time in the famous all white kit of Real Madrid.
