As Ralf Rangnick once said about Manchester United "the club needs open heart surgery, not minor, cosmetic, or superficial changes to fix its deep-rooted performance and structural issues" the same can be said for Real Madrid this season. The club has been a dumpster fire all season and needs major changes if they hope to get back to the top of the European mountain. The squad is expected to undergo a major overhaul this summer with no player, except maybe Thibaut Courtois, being deemed unsellable, and one of the Premier League's biggest clubs is already keeping an eye one Real Madrid's latest out cast.

As being reported by GOAL.com, Manchester United are weighing up a move to sign Fede Valverde as the Uruguayan's future at the Bernabeu becomes increasingly uncertain amid the growing turmoil within the dressing room. Once viewed as an untouchable cornerstone piece of Real Madrid, Valverde now seems closer to the exit door than anyone ever thought possible.

Manchester United on high alert for Real Madrid outcast

The 27-year-old has been a loyal servant to Los Blancos since his arrival and following the departures of Toni Kroos, Casemiro, and Luka Modric was expected to be the man to take the reigns and become the next great Real Madrid midfielder, but in his first season as the main man in the midfield, he has shown that he may not be ready for that task.

He had a good goal scoring stretch but off the pitch has frankly has a shocking season, from his issues with Xabi Alonso, refusing to do what the manager asks of him, to now his fights with Tchouameni and the club seems to have finally hit their breaking point with all the drama and has decided now is the time to move on from Valverde, with Manchester United keen on bringing the midfielder as they look to reshape their midfield following a resurgence under Michael Carrick.

The Red Devils have drawn up a list of a number of midfield options ahead of the summer transfer window with the Real Madrid midfielder jumping to the top of their list with the rumors of his availability. United have also held an interest in Aurelien Tchouameni before but with the club siding with the Frenchman, they will have to settle for Valverde instead. The Uruguayan is valued at around €120 million but it will no doubt be difficult for Real Madrid to get that price out of him and could settle for around €100 million.

Despite his public remorse and apology, Real Madrid are furious with Valverde and see it hard to come back from everything that he's done this season. The clubs biggest goal in the summer is to fix the divide within the dressing room and that will come at the sacrifice of some of the superstar players whether fans like it or not.
