Manchester City's treble winning striker Erling Haaland made a big impact on the grand stage yet again, needing just two chances to sink Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior and the Brazil national team to grab a brace to further state his case as World Cup MVP and a potential Golden Boot winner.

Vinicius and Haaland shared some great moments of respect after the match, and after Alfie Haaland's statement to DAZN Spain about not ruling out a future move to Madrid and even Fabrizio Romano fanning the flames, Real Madrid fans are seriously wondering about a future dream move for the Norwegian No. 9.

Real Madrid, after all, could have - and should have - signed Haaland in 2022 with everything already arranged with Borussia Dortmund, but because Florentino Perez was so fixated on Kylian Mbappe, a deal could not be done.

Real Madrid are subtly recruiting Erling Haaland

Haaland has never closed the door on Madrid, and the rumors have never died. And now, in addition to Vinicius Jr., the player set to start behind him on the left flank is doing his best to recruit the Manchester City man to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Marc Cucurella, the new Real Madrid starting left back who keeps proving he is a big time Madridista despite being a former Barcelona and Getafe player, had high praise for Erling Haaland in a recent interview with Goal.com.

The Spanish left back stated that if he could steal the powers of any player, he would choose Haaland. Cucurella said, via the Madrid Zone, “Which players powers would I steal? Maybe Erling Haaland. Not the skill but maybe his power or his quality, because he always stays in the correct position to score. He scores a lot of goals, and not just one attribute, but he always smells where the space to score is."

Iti s a very, very surprising pick, because Marc Cucurella could have chosen anyone. He could have picked a past or present Real Madrid or Spanish national team player, or he could have even picked someone affiliated with Chelsea. Better yet, he could have picked another left back or just someone who plays defense in general.

But Cucurella chose Haaland, a striker with whom he shares almost literally nothing in common with. It is a very curious pick, until you realize that Real Madrid are subtly on the recruiting trail for Haaland, and Cucurella may be taking a strong hint, following in the foot steps of Vinicius Jr. to try and throw all the bread crumbs possible for this transfer trail.
