Kylian Mbappe had himself a day in Real Madrid's 4-1 blowout win over Real Sociedad in La Liga, scoring a hat trick of goals in a perfect attacking performance. The Frenchman was as untouchable as he was in the World Cup, and he did it against one of the more talented teams in the Spanish division, showing the electricity of his performances against Schalke and Espanyol with the end product that he usually reserves for Les Bleus.
Real Madrid have had to deal with a lot of Mbappe question marks and debates, and it is true that Real have won nothing in the two seasons that Mbappe has been at the Santiago Bernabeu despite the player winning the Pichichi award as Spanish football's top goal scorer in both seasons.
For Mbappe, there is a need to disprove the narrative that he does not do enough to help his team win, but it is funny to note that because after the game, new starting left back Marc Cucurella made a clear statement in support of his former World Cup semifinal opponent by stating that Mbappe does more than enough to help out.

Cucurella told the press, via Madrid Xtra, “Playing with Mbappe? It's a huge privilege, in the end, everything becomes easier with him around. With minimal effort, he can score, and he doesn't need much to create a dangerous chance. I think he gives the team so much, and he's a very important player. Having him with that enthusiasm and focus gives us an extra boost. We hope he keeps it up, and that this hat-trick isn't his last of the season. I'm thrilled for him and for the team's win.”
One of Jose Mourinho's biggest task this season is to get Real Madrid to all play on the same page together and to keep the peace with the superstar players and the entire squad, with Florentino Perez wanting him to deliver trophies with big names like Kylian Mbappe starting in the side.
Marc Cucurella is doing Mourinho's job for him with this ringing endorsement of Mbappe, which many Madridistas will take as a definitive defense of the effort Mbappe gives and how much his goals and attacking quality help the team.
And after seeing first hand his goal scoring against Real Sociedad, it is hard to argue with what Cucurella is saying. Madridistas just hope it all continues.
