Real Madrid's new signing Lamini Fati has been spotted training with the first team ahead of the Champions League clash against RB Salzburg.
Tomorrow evening, Real Madrid return to Champions League action after what feels like a lifetime away. The iconic Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will play host to RB Salzburg, the Austrian opposition who currently sit 32nd in the Champions League standings.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, are not performing too much better. In fact, factoring in their usual standards, Los Blancos are arguably in worse form than the visitors. At the moment, the champions are 20th in the UCL standings.
Therefore, Real Madrid will not mess around in this fixture. They recognise this game as a must-win, so they will stop at nothing to achieve exactly that.
New signing trains with Real Madrid before Champions League clash
As pointed out by Get Football News Spain, new Real Madrid signing Lamini Fati was spotted in training with the first team, under the guidance of Carlo Ancelotti, ahead of midweek's Champions League fixture.
Since joining Real Madrid from Leganes earlier in the January transfer window, the young defender has linked up with the U19 Real Madrid team. However, he has impressed to the point of being given a space in first-team training.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Fati is even involved in the squad to face Salzburg on Wednesday evening. It is not anticipated he will start, given his inexperience and how important this match is to Real Madrid.
Nevertheless, it is a proud moment for the teenager, who is clearly making great first impressions at Real Madrid. It is the biggest club in the world, so Fati and his family should be immensely proud of reaching his first milestone already.
Of course, Fati was signed with an eye on the future. He is one of the most exciting young defenders in the world, hence why Los Blancos acquired him early doors.
However, given the time period which he was signed in, there were naturally question marks about whether Carlo Ancelotti deemed him ready to step in. After all, there is a clear injury crisis at the back, admittedly alleviated slightly by David Alaba's recent return.
