Over the last few years we've seen Real Madrid loan or sell some of their most talented youngsters to other clubs, where they have found much success away from the Bernabeu. Most recently with player like Nico Paz, Jacobo Ramon, and Endrick, however there is one other Castilla product Real Madrid have sold, who has caught the eye of one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League.
As being reported by MadridXtra on X, Newcastle United are eyeing a move to sign Real Madrid youngster Victor Munoz this summer, with the Premier League club viewing him as the perfect replacement for Anthony Gordon, who has since joined Barcelona in an ā¬80 million move.
Real Madrid could miss out on bringing back this youngster
Munoz came through the Castilla system and made his first team debut during the 24/25 season under Carlo Ancelotti but he made just four senior team appearances, and with the sheer quality and depth in the attack, it was always going to be nearly impossible for a player like Munoz to get regular first team minutes, so as a result, the club opted to sell him to Osasuna in the summer to develop as a player.
The Spaniard had a strong first season of regular first team minutes with Osasuna grabbing seven goals and five assists across 36 appearances in all competitions earning him a call up for Spain for the upcoming World Cup. Real Madrid has been keeping a close eye on his progress at Osasuna and it seems other European team have as well, potentially putting Real Madrid on notice this summer.
As mentioned earlier Newcastle need to replace their departing attacker, and view Munoz as the perfect replacement for Anthony Gordon as the two actually share a few traits. Both are extremely quick down the left wing and can also play as a number ten, something we are seeing much move of in the modern game. They are both good for around the same number of goals, with Gordon only grabbing six Premier League goals last season.
When it comes to any potential deal for Munoz, Real Madrid very much hold the upper hand. The club still retains the first option to bring him back, so should any other club want to sign him, it would have to be given the ok by Real Madrid first. The 22-year-old is currently valued at around ā¬30 million, and with all the attacking depth already at Real Madrid as well as the expected returns of Endrick and Nico Paz, Real don't really need to bring Munoz back, so letting him take the next big step in his career to Newcastle won't hurt the club at all.
