Kylian Mbappe, once again, made headlines for all the wrong reasons, taking away from the young man who started in his place and had a Man of the Match performance in a 2-0 Real Madrid win over Real Oviedo, striker Gonzalo Garcia, by having a massive post game tirade that was reportedly his own idea and not sanctioned by the club.

The French superstar threw Alvaro Arbeloa under the bus, insulted his teammates by saying they could not win in the Copa del Rey without him, and did a whole lot of damage to the club in what was apparently a lash out after Arbeloa did not start him against Oviedo even though he had just suffered an apparent aggravation of an injury the night before El Clasico.

Although Arbeloa has minimized himself in order to give the star players grace as a change of pace from the failed Xabi Alonso tenure, he is someone held in high regard at the Valdebebas, including by future manager Jose Mourinho, who was actually Arbeloa's coach in Madrid for years. So nobody is taking what Mbappe did kindly at all, as this was an open attack on the manager and the club.

Florentino Perez wants to meet with Kylian Mbappe

Per a report from Miguel Serrano, via the Madrid Zone, president Florentino Perez has finally decided to step in. He wants to have a direct meeting with Kylian Mbappe after his remarks against Alvaro Arbeloa in the post game vs. Oviedo. Jose Angel Sanchez, Perez' s right hand man, will also reportedly be a part of the meeting. The goal from a Real Madrid stand point is to clear the air on all that has happened in the 2025/26 season and finally get Mbappe 100 percent invested in Real Madrid.

It is stunning that it has taken this long for Perez to step in and rectify things with a huge star player run amok in a locker room filled with unchecked egos and hidden agendas. Real Madrid already won the Champions League and La Liga before Mbappe arrived to the Santiago Bernabeu as Perez's pet project and obsession, and they have not won since.

So there is some level of responsibility on Perez's part, not just because he is THE president and face of Real Madrid, but also because he is the one who chiefly wanted Mbappe. And if Mbappe can't listen to the president, then that's when the club has serious problems.
