Michael Olise is quite clearly the ultimate Galactico that Florentino Perez was telling Real Madrid fans about during the elections, and although Bayern Munich have been slamming the door shut on transfer talks for the star right winger, asking for fees approaching or even exceeding that of Neymar's record move to PSG, the battle is not over yet.
When Florentino is obsessed with someone, he goes all out for them. Just ask PSG about the Kylian Mbappe saga. Eventually, Flo got to sign his ultimate dream prize for free in 2024. While he will not get to sign Olise away from Bayern for free, he knows that he has one important piece of potential leverage in his corner.
Because if Olise tells Bayern Munich that he wants to leave them for Real Madrid, despite Bayern being the better team right now, then it is going to be very, very difficult for Die Roten to ultimately keep the superstar player around against his wishes.
Michael Olise just might say yes
According to new information from Jose Felix Diaz of Diario AS, via the Madrid Zone, it is actually likely that Michael Olise will give a definitive green light to Real Madrid that he wants a transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu. And if that ends up being the case, even Bayern Munich realize that they will be put into a difficult corner.
It is a sudden twist in the tale of a transfer saga that will continue to grip the footballing world, especially once the World Cup is over and there is nothing else compelling in the sport to talk about. Olise is a potential 200 million euro transfer, young, left footed, all around great, coming off a season in which he competed for the Ballon d'Or, and coming off a season in which he broke Lionel Messi's assists record.
Olise is widely seen around Real Madrid as the missing piece to their attacking trio, as Florentino Perez thinks that the club needs a player like Olise so that Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe can be at their best, given Real Madrid really have not had a competent right winger over the past couple of seasons, having won the 2023/24 Champions League with more of a front two and Jude Bellingham as a false 10 behind Rodrygo Goes and Vinicius Junior.
There is no doubting Olise's class, and so for Real Madrid, the chances of signing him are there, all dependent upon the man himself.
