Real Madrid fans have plenty to look forward to this season. Club legend Xabi Alonso has returned to the club and this time, he's taking the hotseat. The legendary Spanish midfielder has already showcased what's on offer at Real Madrid this season via the Club World Cup. However, fans will be excited to return to La Liga action the most.

Xabi Alono's side do not return to league action until Tuesday evening, when they will face Osasuna. Without a doubt, Real Madrid needs to start on winning ways to take the throne away from Barcelona, and there could be some new faces involved in the starting lineup.

While Real Madrid has been focused on making some new signings this summer to showcase to the world in the new season, this hasn't been at the expense of the youth setup.

If anything, the academy products shone through at the Club World Cup, which placed a renewed emphasis on Real Madrid and the young players the club can produce.

Even if players in the Real Madrid academy didn't directly involve themselves in the Club World Cup, watching their peers do so would have renewed their optimism about being given a shot going forward.

Real Madrid signs Thiago Pitarch to new deal

And that's been the case for one Real Madrid talent, Thiago Pitarch. The youngster, who was involved on the scoreboard in a warm-up game against Leganes recently, has been handed a new deal at Real Madrid, putting pen to paper today.

The young talent, who is believed to be the next best thing at Real Madrid, received positive feedback from Xabi Alonso, and has now been trusted with a new deal by the club.

Having turned 18 at the start of the month, there is every possibility that Pitarch could become a big player in Real Madrid's future. At the level he's currently at, he could certainly start a game and not be fazed by it.

However, this is easier said than done at Real Madrid. The club is the epicentre of this sport and hosts the best players in the world. Therefore, the pecking order is extremely heated, and Pitarch may need to spend more time developing at the youth level or even go on loan before he's given a real shot.

Either way, this new deal is positive news for the young player, and it's great that Real Madrid has secured the future of another bright young star.
