When looking at the Real Madrid squad, the sheer amount of world-class talent is visible just at first glance. The squad is stacked with some of the world's best players in positions ranging all over the pitch, from the starting lineup to players on the bench.

While having a star-studded squad is no doubt a good thing, it can also be a detriment to the team. Stockpiling top talent can be overkill in certain positions on the pitch, resulting in some players, who would be starters at other clubs, settling for the bench.

One position in particular where Real are overloaded is the midfield. Players such as Jude Bellingham, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Fede Valverde, Arda Guler, and Brahim Diaz all occupy the same place on the pitch, and as a result, others see more time on the bench, as it is impossible to fit them all into the same lineup.

Given this issue, other top European clubs are always keeping an eye on Los Blancos players who deserve to be starting, and Manchester City are strongly interested in one midfielder in particular.

Guardiola's Man City eyeing Real Madrid star

Topskills Sports UK reports that Manchester City are seriously exploring a move for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, with the interest coming from Pep Guardiola himself. The Premier League side views the Frenchman as the perfect long-term successor to Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva as they look to rebuild their midfield following a number of key departures in recent years.

City will face fierce competition for the midfielder from Saudi Arabian giants Al-Ittihad, and Real reportedly have two different valuations for Camavinga: €120 million for Saudi clubs and €80 million (plus add-ons) for European clubs. Los Blancos signed the Frenchman from AS Monaco for €30 million back in 2021, so either way, a massive profit would be made should he be sold.

The report goes on to state that Camavinga is outside of the club's plans under Alvaro Arbeloa, and they could look to cash in on the midfielder while the interest in him is hot. The 22-year-old is believed to be open to leaving should an attractive offer come in.

However, this should be taken with a grain of salt, given Arbeloa is only in charge on a temporary basis and doesn't seem to be the man who will get the permanent role in the summer. Why would it matter if Camavinga isn't part of his plans if he's only going to be in charge for a few months? The Frenchman has an incredibly bright future in front of him and it doesn't look like he'll be going anywhere anytime soon.
