2 winners and 4 losers from Real Madrid missing out on Alphonso Davies
By Kian Long
Leny Yoro (winner)
With money saved on the Alphonso Davies transfer fee, this could mean that Leny Yoro signing looks more realistic. After all, Real Madrid have been active with their pursuit and he is the logical next step to solidifying the back-line for the foreseeable future.
While Yoro would have hoped to partner with one of the best full-backs in the world, he could ease into life at the Bernabeu next season, before welcoming Davies. If all goes to plan, anyway.
Dani Ceballos (loser)
The Toni Kroos retirement gave Dani Ceballos a sense of security and that his place in the Real Madrid squad was safe for next season. However, missing out on Alphonso Davies could come back to haunt Dani Ceballos.
After all, it is back to the drawing board for Carlo Ancelotti and Florentino Perez now. They must consider their next best move in the transfer window and unfortunately for Ceballos, it seems obvious that a new midfielder is signed, instead of a full-back. After all, Davies just presented a good opportunity but the real priority should be a centre back and midfielder.
