Real Madrid have a near-perfect squad. The standards have never been higher in the Spanish capital, which comes with its pros and cons. That said, here are 3 Real Madrid players who have no choice but to step-up in 2024/25...

3 Real Madrid players who have no choice but to step-up in 2024/25

1. Dani Ceballos

2023/24 was a completely underwhelming campaign for Real Madrid mainstay Dani Ceballos. The midfielder has been a Bernabeu player since 2017 when he signed from Real Betis. However, last campaign was by far his worst in a white jersey.

He made just 5 La Liga starts and did not provide a single goal in the league last season. In fact, this is a common occurrence, since Ceballos has not scored a goal in La Liga since the 2018/19 season.

Considering he is a box-to-box midfielder, this is simply not good enough and it shows that he is lacking in end product. That said, the Toni Kroos retirement will afford one more season for Ceballos to prove himself. In many ways, he simply has to step up in 2024/25, otherwise he could walk the plank in the 2025 transfer window.
