Real Madrid and Barcelona will take on each other in the Spanish Super Cup final. Of course, while not the most important tournament on the calendar, a lot will be riding on the game regardless, especially with the added implications of it being an El Clasico. It is safe to say that the result is more important for Xavi's side, who need a boost after what has been a disappointing start to the season so far.

There is some bad news for Barcelona in that regard. They look set to be without one of their most important players when they take on Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final this weekend.

As reported by SPORT, until training this Saturday, a final decision will not be made. However, in the Barcelona locker room they already assume that Joao Cancelo will not be able to recover in time.

Cancelo is a key part of this team and playing him would be risky. The Spanish Super Cup is important but there are bigger games coming up this season. So, expect the Portuguese international to miss the final against Real Madrid.

Cancelo is currently on loan at Barcelona from Manchester City. He has been a nailed-on starter in Xavi's side though.

Of course, both Barcelona and Real Madrid have their injury problems at the moment. That has not stopped them from reaching the final of the Spanish Super Cup.

Real Madrid played out a thriller against Atletico Madrid in the semi-final, winning 5-3 at the end of extra-time in a game that had it all. On the other hand, Barcelona had a more comfortable test against Osasuna, as they won 2-0 thanks to goals from Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal in the second-half.
