Real Madrid cannot put their injury problems behind them at the moment. A number key players are out on the sidelines with medium to long-term issues. Vinicius Junior, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni are not expected to be back in action this year and fans are hoping that the trio is available by January. Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao look set to be out for longer, having torn their ACLs early in the season. And Arda Guler has not even made his debut yet.

Jude Bellingham has proven to be the signing of the summer, establishing himself as the face of Real Madrid immediately after joining the club. Unfortunately, he is dealing with fitness issues at the moment as well.

Bellingham suffered a shoulder injury some weeks back and missed a few games as a result. He has been wearing a protective brace since.

There have even been rumours that Bellingham might need to undergo surgery at some point if the situation does not improve. And Carlo Ancelotti has not ruled it out either.

Ancelotti admits Real Madrid superstar may need surgery

As reported by Football Espana, Ancelotti said about the matter:

"For now it is not ruled out. The shoulder is a particular joint, if it gets worse, then he might require surgery. But right now it is off the table, because he feels fine and getting better every day. If it pops out frequently, then maybe."

It is not all bad news though. There is a positive update on the situation of Bellingham as it looks like his shoulder is improving. The Real Madrid manager said:

"With the shoulder he has to do specific work to take care of it, and with each passing day he is getting better."

Bellingham is an important part of this Real Madrid team and him having to spent any significant amount of time on the sidelines would be bad news for Los Blancos. Thus, one can only hope that the shoulder issue gets better and he does not end up needing surgery.

What makes the situation even trickier for Bellingham is the EURO 2024 next summer. That means that he cannot wait until the summer for surgery, if he ends up requiring it.
