Real Madrid are in need of a centre-back at the moment. The club have had to deal with injuries throughout the season, with two of the most significant ones coming in the heart of the defence. Eder Militao tore his ACL in the very first game of the campaign. David Alaba recently suffered the same injury and will not return to the pitch anytime soon.

That has left Real Madrid with just two options at centre-back. Antonio Rudiger and Nacho, with Aurelien Tchouameni capable of filling in if the situation calls for it.

That is not nearly enough depth for a club expected to be competing for three major trophies this season. And hopefully, another centre-back will be signed in January.

The club have been linked with plenty of centre-backs in recent times. Names like Raphael Varane, Antonio Silva, Goncalo Inacio and many others have come up. But it looks like Carlo Ancelotti has his eyes on a player from Inter Milan.

Ancelotti wants Real Madrid to sign €60 million centre-back

As reported by Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Ancelotti is a fan of Alessandro Bastoni. He wants the club to sign the Inter Milan centre-back.

Bastoni is 24 years of age and a regular in the heart of defence for Inter Milan. He came up through the ranks at Atalanta but has been with Nerazzurri since 2017, where he has developed into one of the best centre-backs in Europe. He is also a regular in the Italian national team setup.

So, someone like Bastoni would be an excellent signing for Real Madrid. But it is expected to take a transfer fee around €60 million to convince Inter Milan to part ways with him. It is hard to imagine Los Blancos shelling out that kind of a figure in the middle of the season. Let's see how things play out.
