Chelsea appear to be following a similar model to Real Madrid in the transfer market since their change in ownership. The English club have been signing some of the best talents from across the globe. Of course, we are yet to see results on the pitch. The Blues have not won a trophy in recent years and finished 6th in the Premier League last season.

Yet, they do not seem to be budging from their new direction. It looks like Chelsea are on the verge of signing another highly-rated Brazilian talent.

Estevao is expected to join Chelsea when it leaves Palmeiras. And he could be joined by someone who has been dubbed the 'Next Cafu'.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on Instagram, Chelsea are closing in on a deal to sign Pedro Lima with Strasbourg. He is one step away from joining the BlueCo side on a permanent deal. The agreement on the player side is done. He would start his European chapter at the French club with a view to a potential move to Stamford Bridge.

Undoubtedly, Chelsea's transfer policy will come under the microscope as long as they don't win on the pitch. It is good to follow a philosophy but it is also important to find the right balance.

That is something Real Madrid got right. They might have brought in players like Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and more. But the club also had veterans like Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and others, whose presence in the dressing room and the pitch helped the youngsters get better.

Who is going to play that role for Chelsea? The only player they had, who has a similar level of experience, is Thiago Silva. Even he left this summer in order to head back to Brazil.
