Chelsea are on the hunt for a new midfield signing, with growing reports that Conor Gallagher could move away in the summer transfer window. Chelsea locate fringe Real Madrid star as Conor Gallagher replacement
According to Fichajes, Chelsea are interested in signing Aurelien Tchouameni from Real Madrid, as they have emerged as a shock suitor for the fringe Real Madrid star. The report does state that Florentino Perez is yet to make up his mind on the sale, though.
Tchouameni has started 19 La Liga matches out of a possible 30 for Real Madrid this season. Therefore, he is not a nailed-on starter under Carlo Ancelotti, hence why he is the subject of interest from big European clubs.
Real Madrid are linked to some huge signings this summer. Although none of them affect his position (yet), it does raise concern over the future of some fringe players. After all, Real Madrid need to make room in the squad and could potentially feel the need to balance the books with big arrivals expected.
Another angle from which to view this speculation is the contract situation of some of Real Madrid's star players. Currently, there are 6 Real Madrid players with contracts expiring in 2024, including the legendary midfield pair Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. It remains to be seen where their future lies but as thing stand, they are entering their final few months.
Also, The Real Champs reported earlier today that Dani Ceballos has become a player of interest to Newcastle United, so there is an increasing likelihood that Real Madrid will let this midfielder go, which could work in Tchouameni's favour. With Ceballos potentially on his way out, Ancelotti may feel the need to keep ahold of Tchouameni.
Where do you think Aurelien Tchouameni will play next season?
