Real Madrid have big plans for the summer transfer window. In the last few windows, they have not spent massively and instead have bargained with some effective loan deals. That said, the leaders of La Liga table have plenty of resources to allocate to this summer transfer window.

It is believed that the defence will be the best option for Carlo Ancelotti to strengthen, given the ageing nature of his current defence. Therefore, a few young defenders could go a long way to strengthening the long-term future of the Madrid backline.

Chelsea transfer target wants to join Real Madrid instead

According to a report from Marca, a transfer target of Chelsea has revealed his preference. It is believed that the 18-year-old centre back Leny Yoro, would prefer a move to Real Madrid over the London side. The report also states that his current club Lille will demand around €100m for his signature, despite Transfermarkt valuing him at €25m.

From Real Madrid's perspective, it would be money well spent should they wish to sign Leny Yoro from Lille. The teenager is one of the best young players in European football currently - Ageing at just 18 years old, he has started almost every game for Lille in the league this season. It's been an impressive campaign for LOSC, who currently sit fourth in the French top flight.

Real Madrid, in the past and present, have been proud to boast a strong French core. Should they add Yoro to their defensive ranks and complete the expected signing of Kylian Mbappe in the attack, then Real Madrid will continue to have a great French core throughout the distant future.

It also works in Real Madrid's favour that Leny Yoro runs out of contract at The Stade Pierre-Mauroy in the summer of 2025, which could axe his market value.
