Chelsea want player Real Madrid are ready to let go
Real Madrid have been in transition for some time now. Veterans have gradually left while the club have focused on signing youngsters who can be central figures of the team for the next decade or so to come. And they have done a fantastic job identifying the right players, remaining a winning side despite the difficult circumstances.
Alphonso Davies is someone who has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent times. With his complicated contract situation at Bayern Munich, a move to Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2024 could be possible.
On the other hand, there are question marks over the future of Ferland Mendy. The Frenchman has impressed with his recent displays but he has struggled to remain fit for the past few seasons. Interestingly, a Premier League giant seems to be interested in signing him.
As reported by Fichajes, Chelsea have set their sights on Mendy. Real Madrid would be willing to part ways with the Frenchman if a good offer arrives.

Mendy would add some much-needed experience and quality to this Chelsea team. Like Real Madrid, the Blues have focused on signing youngsters as well but in their case, results have been negative.
Chelsea finished 12th in the Premier League last season. This time around, they sit 10th with almost half the campaign played. Not a good sign for a club that has invested so heavily over the past three transfer windows.
Chelsea could do with a reliable left-back for sure. Marc Cucurella has failed to impress since joining from Brighton & Hove Albion. On the other hand, Ben Chilwell continues to struggle with fitness issues. As a result, Levi Colwill, who is a natural centre-back, has been Mauricio Pochettino's most regular player there this season.
