Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr teammate has been noted as a Real Madrid transfer target, with reports in Spain claiming a deal to bring Aymeric Laporte to Real Madrid could be in motion.
Aymeric Laporte has played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr since 2023, when he was signed from Man City. The Spain international won the Champions League and five Premier Leagues with Man City.
However, Aymeric Laporte has not been happy since making the move to the Saudi Pro League. As such, he has asked for a move away for a long time now, and he could finally be getting his wish, if Al Nassr's transfer market movements are anything to go by.
What could this mean for Real Madrid?
Cristiano Ronaldo teammate noted as Real Madrid transfer target
According to a report from Defensa Central, Aymeric Laporte has been listed as a Real Madrid transfer target, with a belief that a move could be made for the Spain international before the deadline.
The Spanish outlet cites Fabrizio Romano, who claimed that Milan centre-back Milan Srkiniar is close to signing for Al Nassr. This would free up room for the Saudi Pro League side to sell Aymeric Laporte.
Real Madrid were linked with a move for a centre-back earlier in the transfer window but they missed out, as Leny Yoro ultimately signed for Manchester United. It remains to be seen whether Carlo Ancelotti sees this position as a priority.
However, Real Madrid are a club who loves to capitalise on golden market opportunities. With Aymeric Laporte, a seasoned professional, up for sale, this could sway Florentino Perez into a deal.
Aymeric Laporte has experience of playing in La Liga already. He began his career with Athletic Bilbao, winning the Supercopa de España in 2015.
Laporte is still just 30 years old, so this could be a great coup for Real Madrid, if Spanish reports are to be believed here.
