Real Madrid have some matches to complete between now and the summer transfer window. Firstly, they must complete their final league match of the season this weekend against Real Betis. Then there is, of course, the UEFA Champions League final. Only after these two matches can Carlo Ancelotti seriously consider executing his summer transfer plans.

Not only must Real Madrid focus on bringing players in this summer, but they must place a particular emphasis on keeping their current players content. In case you didn't know, Real Madrid have a handful of players who will run out of contract after the UEFA Champions League final, so Carlo Ancelotti must organise a priority order to approach those contract extensions.

Thankfully for Ancelotti and his excellent companion Florentino Perez, one of those players with contracts expiring has made life much easier for them. According to a heartwarming update from the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Luka Modric is expected to stay with Real Madrid for another season, as he is not expected to complain about money, with only more time at the club on his mind.

Luka Modric has yet again demonstrated his class and while it may seem like the bare minimum for players to not complain about money, this is Modric's career, so he would be entitled to battle for his salary. Therefore, he should be applauded for valuing his time with the club over his financial situation.

Luka Modric has already achieved everything there is to achieve at club level. He has won four league titles, five Champions Leagues, two Copa del Reys, five Supercopa de Españas, four UEFA Super Cups and finally, five FIFA Club World Cups. We will also throw in one Ballon d'Or award for good measure.

So, long story short, it would have been easy for Modric to call it a day at Real Madrid. However, he envisions more success under Carlo Ancelotti next season, particularly with the rumoured arrivals.
