Trent Alexander-Arnold is someone who has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in the last few days. His current deal with Liverpool is set to run out next summer and Los Blancos do have a recent history of signing high-profile names as free agents. Just recently, Kylian Mbappe arrived at Santiago Bernabeu on a Bosman. In the past, Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba have done the same.

One key reason Trent is being linked with Real Madrid is his friendship with Jude Bellingham. The two are England teammates.

They have even been on holiday together. And perhaps most interestingly, Trent was recently pictured signing a Real Madrid shirt.

That has only added to the speculation regarding a potential move to the Spanish capital. But as reported by CaughtOffside, Fabrizio Romano wrote in his Daily Briefing:

"As I always repeat, footballers are friends but it means nothing in terms of transfers.

Just because Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jude Bellingham have been seen having dinner together… there’s really nothing more to say.

They are great friends and that’s it.

Real Madrid are monitoring Trent’s situation as reported back in March and the situation has absolutely not changed at all so far."

So, it looks like people might be getting a bit ahead of themselves with all the recent Trent to Real Madrid rumours. Nothing seems to be close at the moment.

On the contrary, some reports in England have suggested that Liverpool are confident that Trent will extend his contract and remain at his boyhood club. It remains to be seen whether that turns out to be the case or not.

The fact of the matter is that Real Madrid have a special aura. There is just something about the Royal White jersey that attracts players from around the world. That's why so many shed tears during their presentations and farewells.

Trent is already at an iconic club and at 25 years of age, can already be considered a legend for the Reds, having won everything possible with his boyhood team. But if Real Madrid do come calling in the future, one would have to think that he will at least consider it.
