Real Madrid need to sign a centre-forward soon. Any move is not expected to take place in January. Los Blancos have not really been keen on adding players in the middle of the season for years now. But next summer could be a different story. Will they finally find their long-term replacement for Karim Benzema?

Joselu has done a commendable job since arriving in the summer on loan from Espanyol. And signing him permanently as a cover option would be a good idea.

That being said, Joselu is not the long-term solution up top for Real Madrid. Most people recognise that.

For a long time, Kylian Mbappe has been linked with a move to Real Madrid. But in recent days, there have been suggestions that the club could look to sign Victor Osimhen instead. The Napoli striker is believed to have a release clause set at north of £100 million in his new contract.

Despite the speculation, it looks like there is nothing new when it comes to the situation of Osimhen. As reported by CaughtOffside, Romano said in his exclusive Daily Briefing:

"There’s absolutely nothing new on Victor Osimhen, including a move to Real Madrid instead of Mbappé.

“As I said many times before, nothing is happening for Osimhen in January so it’s one that we will see what happens in the summer.

“Nothing concrete and nothing serious now."

Osimhen has been one of the best strikers in world football over the last couple of years. He would be a good signing for almost any club right now, including Real Madrid, who need to find a long-term number 9 as soon as possible.

At the same time, there is no certainty that Mbappe will end up at Real Madrid. There is always a lot happening when it comes to that transfer saga and perhaps looking elsewhere would be a sensible choice at this point.

Of course, Erling Haaland would be another excellent option. He is the most prolific striker in the world right now and there is believed to be a release clause in his contract set to become active in the future as well.
