Real Madrid have seen four players leave the club this summer. Nacho Fernandez joined the Saudi Pro League on a free transfer, whereas Joselu, Rafa Marin and Juanmi Latasa were all sold by Carlo Ancelotti. That said, Real Madrid signed Kylian Mbappe and Endrick for a combined fee of €47.5m, as per Transfermarkt.

Real Madrid's business in the summer transfer window is a testament to their club size. They are a well-oiled machine who function at the highest standard due to their incredible ability to think ahead. This was demonstrated by Real Madrid's pursuit of Kylian Mbappe stretching back multiple seasons.

However, they may have let one player slip through their grasp. Unless something is immediately done, Real Madrid run the risk of losing a profitable asset for free.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, Real Madrid star player Andriy Lunin is prepared to see out the final year of his Real Madrid contract. Then, in the summer of 2025, the Ukraine international is expected to leave for free. This is despite many clubs showing an interest in him this summer, including Chelsea and Arsenal.

Andriy Lunin will play his final season as a bench-warmer. Unless there is an injury to Thibaut Courtois, it is difficult to imagine Lunin getting a consistent run of fixtures. If he is lucky, Carlo Ancelotti will have him in mind for the cup fixtures.

Lunin impressed for Real Madrid last season. He was one of their standout players after excellently filling in for Thibaut Courtois. However, the decision was clear when both goalkeepers became available again, with Carlo Ancelotti preferring to start Thibaut Courtois in the UEFA Champions League final, despite Lunin helping Real Madrid get to the final.

Do you think Andriy Lunin will play a worthwhile squad role this season?
