RB - Dani Carvajal. Dani Carvajal being the best right-back is pretty undisputed. The Spanish defender played as one of the best in the world under both Carlo Ancelotti spells and he is a true Real Madrid legend, winning five Champions League trophies during his Real Madrid days, two of them under Ancelotti.

CB - Sergio Ramos. A contender for the best centre back of all-time, Sergio Ramos certainly holds that title in the Spanish capital. Ramos controlled the defence for Real Madrid between 2005–2021, so he would have just missed Ancelotti's second spell.

Other teams hated him but Real Madrid loved him; that's the sign of a great defender doing his job, in my books.

LB - Marcelo. Marcelo played all over, from Brazil to Spain to Greece. However, he is mostly recognised for his incredible 15-year tenure with Real Madrid. He donned the left-back role for the entirety of Carlo Ancelotti's first spell and the start of his second. Known for his incredible technical ability and speed, Marcelo remains a Real Madrid legend.
