It feels like the Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid saga has been going on forever and in some ways, that has been the case. The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu since his breakout season at AS Monaco. He would end up joining PSG though and that is where he has remained since then.

Mbappe's time at PSG might be coming to an end soon. His current deal runs out in the summer and he is yet to agree an extension with the Ligue 1 giants yet.

Of course, we were in the same situation a couple of years back and Mbappe did end up signing an extension then. So, nothing should be taken for granted. A lot has changed since then though and Real Madrid are currently viewed as the heavy favourites to sign the Frenchman as a free agent.

As reported by ESPN, has decided to join Real Madrid once his contract with PSG expires this summer. He is expected to announce his decision to join the Spanish club next week.

For the longest time, Mbappe has seemed destined to wear the Royal white jersey. He is believed to have grown up supporting Real Madrid and idolising Cristiano Ronaldo.

Today, Mbappe is considered one of the best players in the world. And he has the chance create a legacy at Real Madrid, like that of Ronaldo, if he does end up joining Los Blancos.

Joining Real Madrid could be brilliant for Mbappe in more ways than one. He is a World Cup winner but the Champions League has eluded him so far. Also, the fanbase of Los Blancos is arguably bigger than any other club on the planet, which would instantly make the Frenchman an even bigger superstar than he already is.

Of course, nothing has been made official yet. Until that is the case, we should consider this transfer saga ongoing. There have been plenty of twists and turns in this long-running story already. And not many will be surprised if there are a few more.
