The long-running Kylian Mbappe transfer saga might come to an end soon. The French World Cup winner's current deal with Paris Saint-Germain is set to run out next summer. Unsurprisingly, he has been linked with a potential move to Real Madrid while Liverpool are rumoured to be in the running for his signature as well.
The possibility of Mbappe signing a contract extension with PSG has never been really ruled out. But now, it looks like he has made a decision about his future in the French capital.
As tweeted by Abdellah Boulma, although he has not yet officially communicated his decision, Mbappe should not continue his adventure with PSG next season. Nothing has yet been signed with Real Madrid but contact with Florentino Perez has never been broken. Los Blancos are now waiting for the green light from the Frenchman.
Mbappe is in the final six months of his contract with PSG right now. That means that he is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club and join them as a free agent in the summer.
Mbappe finally makes PSG decision amid Real Madrid rumours
At this point in time, it looks like his next destination has not been decided. But most view Real Madrid as the clear favourites.
Yes, Liverpool are one of the best teams in Europe as well. Real Madrid just have that aura though and Mbappe is believed to have grown up supporting the club. A move feels destined to happen.
Of course, one can question whether Real Madrid even need Mbappe considering how well they are doing right now. They recently won the Spanish Super Cup by completely outplaying Barcelona in the final. Carlo Ancelotti's side have lost just one game this season so far and might be the best team in Europe.
