Real Madrid are expected to sell some players in the summer transfer window. After all, Carlo Ancelotti must make room in the squad, to balance the books and free up space in preparation for their expected huge arrivals. Having won La Liga recently, Ancelotti is proud but never satisfied until the squad is bullet proof.

Luckily for Ancelotti, when it comes to player exits, some players are easier to decide upon than others. After all, there are a few players who have struggled for game-time this season, and their minutes are set to only decrease in the 2024/25 campaign with Real's planned arrivals.

One of those players, without a doubt, is Dani Ceballos. The Spaniard who has been with Real Madrid since 2017 has started just 5 Liga matches this season and hasn't scored a league goal all campaign. In his defence, he has provided two assists and he hasn't been helped by the recent form of Arda Guler.

Dani Ceballos is linked with a move away from Real Madrid, unsurprisingly. According to an update from Fichajes, La Liga standout performers Girona are targetting a permanent transfer for Dani Ceballos in the summer transfer window. They would like to sign Ceballos from Real Madrid as they seek a replacement for their own departing star, Aleix García.

Dani Ceballos has seemingly played his last match for Real Madrid. The Spaniard was a used substitute against Real Betis last weekend, the team where he began his career. It was a nice moment and unless he makes a surprise appearance in the Champions League final this weekend, was the last time he will play in front of the Real Madrid faithful.

Admittedly, Dani Ceballos is the perfect signing for Girona. As the Reds attempt to continue their fine Liga form next season, they are targeting players who have proven themselves at the top level. Dani Ceballos is certainly within that calibre, he has just fallen surplus to requirements in the intense Real project.

Real Madrid must be cautious about strengthening a direct Liga rival. However, given that Ceballos is unlikely to start for Real next season, the kindest option is probably to sell him. After all, Ancelotti will be confident enough in his own project that he won't be TOO concerned with other clubs around him strengthening.
