Leny Yoro was believed to be Real Madrid's top defensive target this summer and for a long time, it had looked like him moving to Santiago Bernabeu was inevitable. The situation changed after Manchester United swooped in and ended up signing the 'new Raphael Varane' from Lille, leaving Los Blancos empty-handed.

Yoro's career at Manchester United has gotten off to the worst start possible. He is already out injured and has undergone surgery. It is expected to take him around three months to be back available again.

Let's see how Yoro ends up adjusting to the English game and life at Manchester United. There is seemingly an opportunity that he could still end up at Real Madrid in the not-too-distant future, if reports coming out of Spain are accurate.

As reported by Defensa Central (via Fichajes), Yoro would have reached a verbal agreement with Manchester United, allowing him to join the Spanish side in a couple of seasons if certain conditions were met. This is not formalized in writing, but intermediaries have informed Real Madrid about the existence of this unofficial clause. It would enable the Frenchman to sign for Los Blancos, provided they are willing to pay a similar fee to what he was signed for, estimated between €50-55 million.

Of course, it remains to be seen if this information is accurate or not. Such verbal agreements are rarely heard of in football.

It would be safe to assume that Real Madrid will continue to have an eye on Yoro and his development. Just look at how long the Kylian Mbappe saga ran for. Los Blancos seldom give up on a player if they think that he is good enough.

For the time being, Yoro is a Manchester United player and is expected to remain that for the foreseeable future. Let's see how his career plays out at Old Trafford.
