Real Madrid have a fantastic track record in recent years when it comes to identifying some of the best talents from around the globe and then developing them into superstars at Santiago Bernabeu. This transfer policy has brought the club a lot of success and unsurprisingly, they continue to be linked with highly-rated youngsters. One wonderkid believed to be on their radar seems to be in talks to join Inter Miami though, in what would be a very unexpected move if it did end up happening.

Real Madrid have a fantastic midfield department right now. But sooner or later, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos will have to move on, as both legends are in the twilights of their respective careers.

On the other hand, Federico Redondo is someone Real Madrid have been linked with. The Argentine is the son of club legend, Fernando Redondo.

Redondo is 21 years of age and currently plays for Argentinos Juniors. It did look like a move to Europe was not far away for the highly-rated midfielder but now, it seems like he could be about to take an unexpected detour.

As reported by ESPN, Inter Miami is in talks to sign Redondo. One source described the talks as "advanced".

To be honest, it would be a major surprise if Redondo ended up joining Messi at Inter Miami after being linked with some of Europe's biggest clubs. Stranger things have happened in football though, so never say never.

To be honest, it is hard to make sense of the news of Inter Miami being in talks to sign Redondo. Players at that stage of their career, and with that amount of interest in their signatures, do not often end up going to the MLS.
