Liverpool will soon undergo a transitional period, as they welcome their new manager Arne Slot to the historic club. He will have an almost impossible task of replacing the club legend Jurgen Klopp, who has fearlessly led Liverpool to one of their best periods in history. The first task on Arne Slot's agenda will be to keep away some serious Real Madrid transfer interest.

In case you missed it, Real Madrid are interested in signing Trent Alexander-Arnold. While no concrete moves have been made, Carlo Ancelotti and Florentino Perez have shown a keen intent to attract Trent Alexander-Arnold to a free transfer, when his Liverpool contract expires in the summer of 2025.

This is a common tactic for Real Madrid. Time and time again, they have lured the best talents in Europe and saved some Euros in the process by signing them on pre-contractual agreements. It's a stellar policy and one which has helped Florentino Perez make the club the healthiest its ever been.

However, it does come with its risks. As proven by the recent case with Leny Yoro, taking the power out of Real Madrid's hands doesn't always work in their favour, since it will either allow other clubs to swoop in or the player's current club to offer a bumper contract extension.

Well, Liverpool seem confident they will keep ahold of Trent Alexander-Arnold one way or another. According to a report from The Sun, Trent Alexander-Arnold remains committed to Liverpool despite interest from Real Madrid. The Reds would also like to tie the Englishman down to a new bumper contract, to further deter Real Madrid.

The full-back who also has the versatility to play as a midfielder is disheartened to lose in the EURO 2024 final against Spain, despite his best efforts in the buildup. He was subjected to criticism from his own fans and the media due to his lacklustre form in the group stages but in the knockout stages, he scored the winning penalty in the shootout against Switzerland to send England to the semifinal.

Clearly a player for the big occasion, Real Madrid hope they can sway Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool. It's his boyhood club, having played for no other side in his career. However, under new management, anything can happen and Real Madrid would like to pounce on any potential discomfort.
