Both Manchester United and Real Madrid must have had their eyes on the recent meeting between Bayern Munich and Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League. The Bavarian club won by a 9-2 scoreline with Harry Kane scoring four times. Michael Olise got a brace while Leroy Sane, Leon Goretzka and Raphael Guerreiro got their names on the scoresheet as well. None of those players might have been of interest to the two European giants watching though.

Instead, it is a Dinamo Zagreb player that they have been linked with in recent times. Someone who is being dubbed the 'next Luka Modric'.

Considering that the Croatian midfielder has won six Champions League titles during his time at Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid would surely love to have the next generation's Modric as well. But Manchester United look set to try to sign him as well. Earlier in the summer, they were successful in signing Los Blancos' top defensive target in Leny Yoro.

As tweeted by Patrick Berger, Martin Baturina is on the radar of several top clubs. Manchester United and Real Madrid have positioned themselves. Even Modric is suggesting that his club sign the Croatian player.

Modric would have had the chance to see Baturina in action while away on international duty with Croatia. And it looks like he has been very impressed with what he saw from his countryman.

Baturina is 21 years old and not really a household name. But he has already made 120 appearances for Dinamo Zagreb and played 5 times for the Croatian national team as well.

The game against Bayern Munich might not have gone his way but he is expected to get several more chances to impress in the Champions League this season. If he can, then expect the interest in his signature to increase by next summer.
