Real Madrid have an outstanding track record in recent years when it comes to identifying top talents from around the globe, signing them and then developing them into superstars in the Spanish capital. Players like Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Fede Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga, all fall under that category. And there are more on the way up.

It feels like only a matter of time before Arda Guler shows his quality at the highest level. Endrick is set to join next summer as well and considering he has already earned comparisons with Ronaldo Nazario back in Brazil, it would be an understatement to say that expectations are high.

Another club who have done an excellent job with their scouting and recruitment is Manchester City. And as it turns out, they have won the race for one of Real Madrid's targets.

As tweeted by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City are closing in on a deal to sign American wonderkid Cavan Sullivan and it is agreed. There was also interest from Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

Sullivan is currently part of the Philadelphia Union Academy. He has also represented the United States at the U-15 level, doing brilliantly.

Sullivan primarily plays as a number ten but he can also feature on the left flank or in a second striker role. Of course, we are still very early in his career and it remains to be seen how his game develops in the coming years. It would have been nice to see that happen in Spanish capital but Manchester looks to be his next destination.

Of course, he is not the only Real Madrid target Manchester City have recently signed. Los Blancos, and most of Europe's top clubs, were linked with Claudio Echeverri as well but Pep Guardiola's side came out on top.
