Manchester United have a lot of problems right now. One of them is their struggles in front of goal. Erik ten Hag's side have conceded more goals than they have scored in the Premier League this season so far. The only team in the top ten to do so. Clearly, things need to change. Could a former Real Madrid striker be the solution to their issues?

Manchester United signed Rasmus Hojlund in the summer. He has had some good moments but overall, it does not feel like he is ready to be the main number 9 just yet.

So, Manchester United could do with someone ready to compete with Hojlund for a spot in the starting XI. And a former Ballon d'Or winner seems to be on their radar.

As reported by Javier Parra Pena (via SPORTbible), Karim Benzema is attracting interest from Manchester United. The club are believed to be exploring a loan deal for the Frenchman.

Benzema left Real Madrid in the summer, bringing an end to his 14-year run at the club, to join Al-Ittihad. Things have not gone according to plan there and now, the Frenchman is already being linked with a return to Europe.

Manchester United could certainly do with a striker of Benzema's quality and experience. And if they are able to sign him on a short-term loan deal, it would have to be considered a win-win situation for both parties involved.

It seems to be only a matter of time before Benzema departs Al-Ittihad. Will he end up at Manchester United? Time shall tell. At 36 years of age, he is in the twilight of his career. But in the right team, he is still capable of scoring on a consistent basis. Let's see how things turn out for the Real Madrid legend.
