Real Madrid are believed to be the frontrunners in the race to sign Kylian Mbappe next summer, with the Frenchman set to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of this campaign when his contract runs out. But the Premier League could be a potential destination for him as well, as it looks like Arsenal have not been ruled out.

Arsenal are one of the best teams in world football right now, with things clicking under the management of Mikel Arteta over the past couple of seasons. They fell short last time around but are putting up a Premier League title challenge once again.

Could Arsenal be a potential destination for someone like Mbappe? They do not have a great recent history when it comes to winning trophies but seem to be on the cusp of something special.

It would be a risky move for Mbappe to join Arsenal, but nothing should ever be ruled out in football. And Arteta has not shut the door on the idea either.

Arteta makes Mbappe to Arsenal claim amid Real Madrid links

As tweeted by Fabrizio Romano, Arteta said on Arsenal being in the conversation for Mbappe:

"Why not?"

The Arsenal manager further went on to add regarding the matter:

"If we want to be the best team, we are going to need the best talent and the best players."

Let's see if Arsenal do end up making a serious move for Mbappe or not. Despite Arteta's comments, one has to consider Real Madrid the favourites to sign the World Cup winner in the summer.

The saga has been going on for years now and the circumstances seem too perfect for it to not finally materialise. Mbappe needs to go to a club where he will be consistently challenging for the Champions League. Where better to do that than Real Madrid, who have the won competition a record fourteen times already and are very much in the running this season too.
