Considering his history with Barcelona, Neymar is not someone fans would associate with Real Madrid. But that does not mean that his influence is not felt at the Santiago Bernabeu. Players like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo grew up idolising the Brazilian superstar and play with him for the Brazilian national team.
Neymar was teammates with Kylian Mbappe at PSG for a long time. And from the outside looking in, it did not look like the best of relationships.
There were always rumours about there being friction between Mbappe and Neymar, especially during their last few years together at PSG. How accurate the speculation was is anybody's guess.
Now, there's some more interesting news regarding Neymar and Mbappe. And if accurate, it could have an effect on Real Madrid as well.
Neymar sent Kylian Mbappe warning to Real Madrid players
It looks like Neymar has apparently shared with some Real Madrid players what it was like playing with Mbappe. Of course, the Frenchman arrived at Santiago Bernabeu this summer as a free agent after his contract at PSG ran out. As reported by GOAL, journalist Cyril Hanouna said on Europe 1:
"The Brazilians [at Real Madrid] are friends with Neymar. It has always been a war between Neymar and Mbappe. Neymar has sent a paper about Mbappe to the Brazilians, telling them that it was catastrophic, that it was hell."
Of course, Mbappe has had a slow start to life at Real Madrid as well. He has scored four goals already but two of them have come from the penalty spot. And the football with him up top has not been the most fluid either. It looks like the team is taking some time to gel, which is understandable.
There has been plenty of discussion regarding the combination of Mbappe and Vinicius as well. They are very similar kinds of players, who are at their best in the same sort of area on the pitch.
To be fair, both seem to be doing their best to make things work. They have shared penalty duties and hopefully, things will start clicking once they have played together for a while.
