Pep Guardiola dreams of replacing Man City forward with Real Madrid star

Julian Alvarez is on his way out of Man City. While the Argentine forward is yet to sign his Atletico Madrid contract, Real Madrid fans can anticipate him playing up front for their arch-rivals next season. In fairness, it's a good signing for them, but not one which is expected to elevate them to Real Madrid's level. That would take some doing and many many years of hard work.
From Man City's perspective, losing Julian Alvarez isn't the end of the world. While he matured into a great player for them, Pep Guardiola simply couldn't promise him sufficient game-time. Besides, the tidy profit they netted on the World Cup, Premier League and Copa America winner could serve Man City well for the remainder of the summer transfer window. Indeed, they eye a Real Madrid signing.
Pep Guardiola dreams of replacing Man City forward with Real Madrid star
According to a report from Marca, Pep Guardiola dreams of signing Rodrygo Goes from Real Madrid. It is believed the Brazil international is among Real Madrid's favourites to replace Julian Alvarez, now that he's off to Real Madrid. However, the Spanish publication claims that Man City's pursuit will depend on Rodrygo wishing to leave Real Madrid, a decision he is still yet to make.
Carlo Ancelotti has already indicated that he plans to use Rodrygo alongside every other world-class attacker available to Real Madrid, in his starting lineup next season. Without a doubt, this will come with a tactical switch, and a formation which is difficult to predict.
But Ancelotti is a man of his word. He doesn't need to lie about his future plans and part of the reason why Real Madrid is so unified is due to Ancelotti being open and transparent about his future plans. It casts a safety net for his players and allows them to focus on the game, rather than their careers. Hopefully, then, Rodrygo trusts Carlo Ancelotti and his word.
Carlo Ancelotti is dubbed by many as the best manager in the world. However, unfortunately for Real Madrid fans, his main competitor for the title is the former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola. The Catalan-boss is doing a fine job at Man City. The only silver lining for Real Madrid fans is that he's no longer at their Clasico rivals. Out of sight, but clearly not out of mind.
Rodrygo was a phenomenal player for Real Madrid last season. In fact, that's an understatement - He was one of the best at the club. In normal circumstances, he'd be guaranteed a space in the starting lineup next season. Admittedly, the arrival of Kylian Mbappe does complicate matters.
Do you think Real Madrid will keep ahold of Rodrygo?
