2. Ferenc Puskas
Ferenc Puskas is one of the greatest players in history and for Real Madrid, it was an honour to host his abilities for eight years. He was signed from Budapest Honved in 1956, after he set Europe alight with his incredible goal-scoring rate. Admittedly, considering he hadn't played at the top level in Europe, it was a punt but one which paid off for Real Madrid.
He was signed at 31 years old after a ban had prevented him from playing football. It was exceptional for fans at the time to see the return of Puskas' famous left-foot, which he used with the most tenacity of any Real Madrid player in history.
It is fair to say that even in the latter stages of his career, Ferenc Puskas cemented himself into the Real Madrid history books forever. He proved to the world why he was the greatest forward in the world at the time and having retired at Real Madrid in 1966, he finished up with 156 league goals in Spain, winning five Liga titles and three European Cups (now renamed the Champions League).
