4. Paco Gento

Paco Gento certainly deserves his spot in this list. At the time of writing this (June 2024), no player has won more European Cup/Champions League medals than Paco Gento. He won six throughout the course of his career and he was mainly a one-club man.

Although he began life at Racing Santander in the early 1950s, he was quickly picked up by Real Madrid in 1953 and there, he spent the rest of his career before retiring in 1971.

Paco Gento was an original wide-man, a player who had blistering pace and used it to gain an advantage for Real Madrid.

Gento also finished his career with 12 Liga titles, so he was certainly a player who paid dividends to Real Madrid with his incredible longevity. It is interesting because Gento actually played alongside Ferenc Puskas and Alfredo di Stefano in the Real Madrid front-line. Despite the star-studded quality, Gento made a name for himself.
