Real Madrid are widely expected to make a Galactico signing in the near future. Kylian Mbappe seems like the most likely candidate in that regard. The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu constantly for years now. And his current deal with Paris Saint-Germain is set to run out next summer, with an extension looking unlikely at the moment.

Rumours have suggested that Real Madrid will make an offer to the Mbappe camp in January. Now, it remains to be seen if a move ends up materialising this time around or not.

Signing Mbappe, that too as a free agent, would have to be considered as one of the best signings in the history of the game. But Real Madrid have been urged to bring in Erling Haaland ahead of the Frenchman if they could sign just one of the two.

Alfonso Perez is one of the few players in history to have represented both Real Madrid and Barcelona. As reported by AS, when asked if he would sign Mbappe or Haaland if he was Florentino Perez, the former Spanish international said:

"Both of them, but if it could only be one, due to the profile that Madrid needs, Haaland. I think Mbappé is the best in the world, but in that position he has Vinicius and Rodrygo."

That is a very good assessment of the situation, to be honest. Mbappe can play as a centre-forward but he is at his best when on the wings.

Real Madrid already have two world-class wingers though in the form of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo. They need to sign a long-term successor to Karim Benzema in the number 9 role after the Frenchman left for Al-Ittihad.

When it comes to being an out-and-out striker and finding the back consistently, there is no better player in the world than Haaland. The Norwegian superstar's numbers over the years have been unbelievable. He has proven himself at a number of clubs. If Real Madrid signed him, he would come with a guarantee of goals.
