Real Madrid have huge transfer plans for the summer transfer window. That goes beyond saying at this point, since the huge transfer link with Kylian Mbappe is widely reported and, of course, Endrick is already confirmed to join the Bernabeu next season.

But what room does this leave for new transfers? Well, helped by the fact that Real Madrid will save invaluable finances by the way of a pre-contract agreement with Kylian Mbappe, they will have more resources to spread elsewhere (although, Mbappe will obviously eat into wage resources). So, who else is Real Madrid linked with?

Real Madrid battle Arsenal and Man City for £100m midfielder

According to a report by English outlet talkSPORT, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have joined the race, alongside Premier League giants Arsenal and Man City, to sign Bruno Guimaraes. The Brazilian midfielder, who currently represents Newcastle United, is linked with a move away from St James Park this summer, as he is their most profitable asset and he has a £100m release clause.

Bruno Guimaraes has honed his craft excellently since joining Newcastle United. He has been a prominent figure in their midfield with his sheer physicality and his natural Brazilian flair. However, given Newcastle United's financial situation, they may feel the need to sell some of their star players, with Bruno certainly within that calibre.

Guimaraes would be the perfect long-term replacement for Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. While it would be unfair to compare Bruno to the two legends of the game, his playing style merges both of Kroos' and Modric's best assets, with his excellent passing ability and powerful runs into the opposing half.

Arsenal, Man City, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are four of the richest clubs in Europe, so it's no surprise to see them locking horns for the same player. All four clubs have financial resources to burn and the potential sale of Bruno Guimaraes presents an interesting opportunity to all of them.

While it is not set in stone, it would not come as a surprise if Newcastle United would prefer to sell Bruno Guimaraes to a club from abroad, so PSG or Real Madrid, to avoid strengthening a direct league rival. In that instance, Real Madrid would have the advantage since they have a great Brazilian core already.
