Real Madrid have made two remarkable additions to their squad this summer. Of course, bringing in Kylian Mbappe as a free agent has to go down as one of the best signings in the history of the game. The Frenchman is arguably the best player in the world and he is joining the European and Spanish champions.

One cannot make the mistake of overlooking Endrick either. The deal to sign him was agreed in 2022 but he has arrived in the Spanish capital this summer. He is regarded by many as the highest-rated talent to come out of Brazilian football since Neymar.

Other than those two additions, Real Madrid have been very quiet in terms of transfer activity this summer. It remains to be seen whether that changes over the coming weeks.

One player who has been loosely linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer is Kepa Arrizabalaga. He spent last season on loan at the club and while he was not first-choice, there are rumours that the Spaniard is willing to join on a permanent basis. Are Los Blancos interested though?

Carlo Ancelotti has not completely ruled out a move for Kepa but judging from his comments, it looks unlikely. As reported by the Mirror, when asked whether the Spaniard could potentially return to the Santiago Bernabeu, the Real Madrid boss said:

"In that position, we are covered.

"Kepa did really well. We were really happy to have him here but I don’t know what’s going to happen this season. We love him."

Chelsea signed Kepa in a world-record deal from Athletic Bilbao in 2018, incidentally, as Thibaut Courtois' replacement. It would be safe to say that he has not had the career that was expected of him.

Any Real Madrid move for Kepa could depend on the future of Andriy Lunin. He has been linked with a number of clubs this summer after an exceptional 23/24 season but no move has materialised yet.
