It goes without saying that Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world. Historically, they have the best achievements over any club but even to the current day, they have maintained their place at the top of the world. Winning the treble last season and signing some incredible players in the summer, Florentino Perez will be more than happy with the current health of the club.

Carlo Ancelotti and Florentino Perez will not be at the club forever, though. This is a sad reality and unfortunately, the bitter pill which Real Madrid fans must swallow. However, the iconic duo at the top have made the right decisions and the necessary decisions to bulletproof Real Madrid for the long-term future, even after they both eventually step down.

Real Madrid break the €1 billion threshold confirms Fabrizio Romano

In their recently published financial statements, Real Madrid has confirmed a truly historic landmark. As per Fabrizio Romano on X, Real Madrid are the first club to ever exceed the €1 billion threshold in revenue. Impressively, it's 27% more than the previous season.

What is defined as revenue is the total amount of income Real Madrid has made through sales, prize money, sponsorship, turnover and any other income which the club receives throughout a single season. It is the total amount received, not necessarily profit.

There are many factors which has made it a record-breaking season for Real Madrid. Perhaps the biggest factor is signing the most marketable player in the game right now, Kylian Mbappe. Even just being linked to Kylian Mbappe would have more eyes on Real Madrid as a club, which in turn leads to capital generated. There was also the treble win, boosting money from competition prizes.

It's nothing that Real Madrid are not accustomed to but they have set an incredible new standard for themselves. To be the first club to ever exceed €1 billion in revenue is inspiration enough for other clubs, let alone Real Madrid. Next season, Florentino Perez will only be inspired to achieve more and break another record. This is just the type of tenaciously successful character he is.

It's important to mention that while revenue does have some impact on transfer proceedings, Real Madrid fans should not expect this to correlate to more landmark signings. While Real Madrid have their eyes on more signings in the 2024 summer transfer window, it is their frugal approach to transfer windows which has got them in this position, so Perez would be silly to begin splashing the cash now.
